What software are you using.  With evince under UTF-8 locale seems to
work OK.  xpdf is always broken for this.

The page uses xunicode package.  I vaguely remember XeTeX recommended to
use this xunicode.  I did not use xunicode.

dblatex generation of latex is still heavily old style.

I think I need to customize it via xetex_param.xsl stylesheet ...
