Hi! I have conky version 1.8.1-6 `compiled Sat Dec 3 12:23:36 UTC 2011` (I suppose it is from unstable repository, because aptitude doesn't want update package). This version crashes as is described in bugreport.
Than I applied balta2ar's patch and now conky doesn't crash. So, what version of conky do you except in unstable?
