Please keep in mind that these appear as emails in a crowded inbox, so
the subject line can be a good place to put valuable context.

For afterwards: I believe something like

        update-locale LANG=de_CH.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=en_GB.UTF-8

would do the right thing.

Making it settable by d-i during installation and by "dpkg-reconfigure
locales" is another story and probably requires someone to come up
with wording and flow for the prompts that is not too distracting to
people not using this feature.
