@Joachim: please take a look at the committed changes and give feedback. (It was a bit trial and error, sorry). Maybe you want to cherry-pick some commits to the squeeze-backports branch?
Will have to see to other things tonight and tomorrow, but will be happy about discussing the xorg and tigervnc code import and other changes I committed.
