I have to adjust the window size manually rather that use this button. Note that once the window is grey, Remmina's buttons aren't visible anymore (they are grey too!). It is still possible to press "Ctrl-R F" to swith full screen mode... which works properly. Also, closing the "grey" window and re-establishing a connection doesn't help because the window is still grey. One can go to the Connection settings > Advanced > Horizontal Scale the slightly change the window ratio.
