Unfortunately, the follow-ups to this bug did not copy the bug. It turns out that the configure script does not cope with libpcsc installed into multi-arch directories: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/pcsc-cyberjack.git;a=blob;f=m4/pcsc.m4; I'm currently waiting for a reply from Frank regarding the idea to replace m4/pcsc.m4 with pkg-config.
