Also, thanks to Norbert to explain recent build failure of packages using XeTeX by pointing out needs to add the tipa package to build-dep. (See Bug#666622) This is related to this bug but for this texlive-xetex package. http://bugs.debian.org/666622 Current dependency of texlive-xetex is: Depends: dpkg (>= 1.14.18), tex-common (>= 3), texlive-base (>= 2011-0.1), texlive-common (>= 2011-0.1), texlive-binaries (>= 2011-0), texlive-latex-base (>= 2011-0.1) Recommends: lmodern Since almost all user uses xunicode.sty, and its current code requires to have tipa pakage, we should update it to: Depends: dpkg (>= 1.14.18), tex-common (>= 3), texlive-base (>= 2011-0.1), texlive-common (>= 2011-0.1), texlive-binaries (>= 2011-0), texlive-latex-base (>= 2011-0.1) Recommends: lmodern, tipa This will ensure most user happy font set up while someone with special set up can live without tipa :-) For packages like refcard, they still need to list tipa in their font build-dep. As for people in CJK, they will install latex-cjk-xcjk anyway. They get their fonts suggested and we do not need to worry about such fonts here.
