OK, I can see it is getting confused about the version number.

Version 0.2.2-1 is a valid upstream version number as far as 5.6.12 of
the policy manual is concerned, as long as it is not a debian native
package (which it is not).

I'll dig into the source, I suspect a small problem with the matching
strings.
