I can see this too: in a Squeeze VM in a libvirt + qemu sid
environment, switching from Cirrus to QXL display triggers this bug.

I tried booting the VM with the Linux 3.2 kernel from
squeeze-backports, and I still get the bug.

I do confirm this: I installed grub-pc from sid inside that Squeeze
VM, and now the bug does not happen anymore with QXL display.
