Hi! Thank you for this report!
As far as I can see, GSD should handle the case that a backend does
not support some functions, so this is a bug in GSD. (please notify me
if I'm wrong)
The Apt backend we're using on Debian at time is not capable of
handling distribution upgradees (you should better use other tools for
that anyway)
