Hello, Thank you for your interest in improving Debian, and sorry to keep the bug unattended for so long. There's now an effort to review the open bugs related with aptitude and resume development. All of these problems are still present in the current version, 0.6.5-1. It's unlikely that these problems get fixed in the near future, unless somebody with knowledge and will to tackle the GTK side of aptitude steps up.
