I'd like to avoid debconf stuff if possible. I'll put a (disabled) xinetd service and enabled line in inetd.conf. This way the server will be accessible right away (via inetd). If admins want to use xinetd, the configuration will be at hand only waiting to be enabled. Thanks for your input.
