Package: ufsutils Version: 0.0+2004.06.26-4 Severity: normal This test has been done on a chroot where the /etc directory was completely removed:
# mkfs.ufs /tmp/foo /tmp/foo: 10.0MB (20480 sectors) block size 16384, fragment size 2048 using 4 cylinder groups of 2.52MB, 161 blks, 384 inodes. super-block backups (for fsck -b #) at: 160, 5312, 10464, 15616 mkfs.ufs: Cannot retrieve operator gid I don't think mkfs.ufs really needs the operator gid in order to create a filesystem. If it means to get the root group gid, then just using 0 as a fallback is much saner than just not working at all. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: kfreebsd-i386 (i386) Kernel: GNU/kFreeBSD 5.3-2 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) Versions of packages ufsutils depends on: ii libc0.1 2.3-1+kbsd.8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libedit2 2.9.cvs.20040827-1 BSD editline and history libraries ii libncurses5 5.3.20030719-5 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libufs2 0.0+2004.06.26-4 UFS filesystem shared library -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
