If the 'hostname' and 'user' in the log messages are written there
literally and not replaced by you when writing the bug report than it
looks like somebody has got the documention wrong and really typed
"user" instead of his username :)
Anyway, I don't think there's a bug in the server as nobody else
reported a bug against this upgrade. Maybe the privilege tables were
modified before but no "FLUSH PRIVILEGES;" was done so the changes got
into effect first when restarting the server.
