Hello,
sorry for the late reply, but I did not get your mail (it looks like
you did not CC: me, which is unfortunately necessary for the BTS).

I installed this machine under 2.4 and used LVM1 (manually created,
because d-i on ppc did not like to set it up, but formatting, mounting
etc went fine). Later on, I found out that 2.4 does not support my
graphics chip, so I upgraded to 2.6. I installed lvm2, and now I can
use the logical volumes both in 2.4 and 2.6.

thirtyto:~# lvm version
  LVM version: 2.00.24 (2004-09-16)
  Library version: 1.00.19-ioctl (2004-07-03)
  Driver version: 4.1.0

thirtyto:~# lvmiopversion
200

thirtyto:~# dpkg --list|grep lvm
ii lvm-common 1.5.17 The Logical Volume Manager for Linux (common
ii lvm10 1.0.8-8 The Logical Volume Manager for Linux
ii lvm2 2.00.24-1 The Linux Logical Volume Manager

If e2fsadm does not support LVM2, and 2.6 only supports LVM2, would it
not be possible for e2fsadm to check for 2.6 and refuse to run? Giving
me the help screen of a different command (lvmextend) is not quite
helpfull right now.

Thanks.

       Helge
