I've had this problem since installing Debian using the new DI with linux26 boot option.
I recently upgraded the kernel image to kernel-image-2.6.8-2-386 and then kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686. All showed the same problem.
The only boot option I had in my grub config was 'ide=nodma'. I did try pci=noacpi and acpi=off. neither helped.
The machine has usb1.1 onboard and I have added a usb2 pci card. Usb devices are a usb external CDR, a usb to serial adapter, a usb mouse, and a usb multi-port card reader. All deviced appear to function ok.
I hope this additional info is of some help.
Kind Regards, Patrick
