Package: ion3 Version: 20050116-1 Severity: normal I'm reporting this against ion3, but ion2 exhibits the same behavior; I also tested using both Debian's XFree86 and a local installation of X.org. The symptoms are simple: when I started ion3 for the first time, I was told that I should press Alt-[1-9] to select a tab. I did so, and nothing happened. I figured maybe I used the wrong modifier, so I tried every modifier on the keyboard: left control, right control, left Windows, right Windows, etc...even Shift! Each was ignored by ion and passed through to the client window. I tried the rest of the Mod1- keybindings; none worked. I tried changing the definition of MOD1 in /etc/X11/ion3/ion_cfg.lua, cycling through each of the possible modifiers (Mod1, Mod2, etc). No effect. I disabled all the keyboard options (eg, altwin:metawin) in XF86Config; no effect.
The weirdest thing is that xmodmap says that Alt_L *is* Mod1: xmodmap: up to 3 keys per modifier, (keycodes in parentheses): shift Shift_L (0x32), Shift_R (0x3e) lock Caps_Lock (0x42) control Control_L (0x25), Control_R (0x6d) mod1 Alt_L (0x40), Alt_L (0x7d) mod2 Num_Lock (0x4d) mod3 mod4 Super_L (0x7f), Hyper_L (0x80) mod5 Mode_switch (0x5d), ISO_Level3_Shift (0x7c) Any ideas?
