That actually is the source of my concern, which I explained poorly. I encountered a package, raggle, which needs to depend on a text browser. In an attempt to do so, they declared a depency on "links | lynx | w3m". In bug number #292006 I complained to raggle, who indicated the lack of a text-www-browser. Since then, I have stumbled accross this thread about x-www-browser and text-www-browser: http://lists.debian.org/debian-policy/2003/12/msg00044.html I have not read the entire thread, but it makes me think that perhaps this problem would best be solved by the creation of a text-www-browser virtaul package.
