If a Chinese input method is active, the Esc key is used to clear the input area of mistakes and start over. For example, if I want to type "aaaa" and accidentally typed "sss" instead, I can press the "Esc" key to clear the "sss" so that I can type "aaaa" which is what I want. In Gimp the above cannot be done. For example, if I want to rename a layer: 1. User brings up the layers dialog 2. User double-clicks the layer name 3. User types the new layer name, makes a mistake, and discovers the mistakes before pressing Space to send the current character 4. User presses Esc (This should only be seen by the input method) 5.
