aha, i was wondering about that. in the online comments with the ssl-related mysql docs, i saw numerous people mentioning issues regarding redistributing ssl-enabled binaries. the reason for asking this originally is i'd like to add support for mysql+ssl to my dbconfig-common project. anyway, if they do opt for gnutls support, i'd consider that sufficient for my needs. i guess we can just leave it as a wontfix bug until then... sean --
