Well, after thinking about it some more, I'm inclined to remove this xscreensaver.kss file from the next release of xscreensaver (unless I hear a good reason not to.) I added it at someone's request years ago, but now I think it just doesn't belong there at all.
If the KDE folks think they should be using their own screen saving framework instead of my xscreensaver daemon, that's their choice; but if they also choose to try and run the xscreensaver display modes in that foreign framework, then *they* should be the ones responsible for, you know, making it actually *work*. In my opinion, and from what I hear of the experience of others, the only sensible way to make use of xscreensaver in a KDE environment is to disable KDE's screensaver framework and run the xscreensaver daemon, as documented in the xscreensaver FAQ and manual: http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/faq.html#kde http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/man1.html#10 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
