I think the package should 'Recommends' both xxd and mpage, as they're required in included driver in subj, and likey others one might get/write. Not a 'Depends' as, like for gs, one may just use it as lprng front-end. Would be nice to put such notes right in the description, like it is for Ghostscrip.
