Sorry it took so long to get back. Looks like I am able to get lastlog working on only 50% of the machines I've tested with your patch. Creating a new lastlog file does not seem to be working. It seems to write to the file, but the updates do not show up when 'lastlog' is run. If there's anything else I should try, let me know.
