I could successfully move all my icons from the lower bar to the upper
bar by 1/ launching the toolbar editor, 2/ dragging the icons from the
lower toolbar to the right of the upper toolbar, then the toolbar

Indeed, so let's get to the debugging version!

libglib2.0-0-dbg - The GLib libraries and debugging symbols

Please install libglib2.0-0-dbg and set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to start
 with "/usr/lib/debug/usr/lib" and restart Galeon.

     Thanks,
