Package: debian-installer Followup-For: Bug #288522 Ok, I did an lsmod just after "network hardware detection." 1394 devices were not listed. After some fiddling, I found that if i did a "modprobe ohci1394" during the language selection that once I got to the network hardware selection that the proper network interfaces were listed:
eth0: 3com card eth1: firewire ethernet eth2: wireless ethernet and lsmod showed that eth1394 and ieee1394 were properly loaded. So, I guess that all that really needs to be done is to load the ohci1394 module during the component initialization step. Phew...now that was a lot of work to figure out that a single module was the culprit. But hey, at least I learned something, and I'm contributing...so yay :-) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
