Package: automake1.4 Version: 1:1.4-p6-8 Severity: important automake 1.4 does not honour the "minimum-version requirement" argument that can be passed to AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE in later versions, e.g:
AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE([1.8 gnu]) By adding this I can be sure that people won't accidentally generate the Makefile.in files with 1.6 or 1.7, but that 1.8 and 1.9 are acceptable. Automake 1.4 doesn't check this, so tries to generate the Makefile.in files anyway and fails gloriously. This is especially dangerous, because 1.4 is *still* the default Automake (#116500, #228604). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8.1-3-686 Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 Versions of packages automake1.4 depends on: ii autoconf 2.59-5 automatic configure script builder ii autotools-dev 20040312.1 Update infrastructure for config.{ -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
