Very odd; I've never had it do that on my systems before, and daemon mode is only supposed to fire periodically, do it's thing, and then go back to sleep (it's really just a shortcut for a cronjob of running it in non-daemon mode that will never fail on lockfiles if it somehow legitimately ran for > 5 minutes).
Definitely not the intended behavior, but I may need more information if I
can't replicate it on my systems. Does the logfile show anything odd?
