Package: gnotime Version: 2.2.1-11 Severity: important -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1
When there is no project started, gnotime repeatedly pops up dialogs asking if it should start one. This wouldn't be so bad, except that: 1. It does it every few minutes, even when you hit cancel. 2. The dialogs steal the focus, causing you to lose whatever you were typing into any other X client. This is quite annoying in itself (especially when you're typing a document and not looking at the screen). 3. Even if you re-focus the other X client, gnotime steals the focus again. It seems it re-focuses this dialog at least once a second until you dismiss it (but then see [1], it'll be back). 4. The dialogs can pop up on an invisible portion of the desktop (e.g., after using Enlightenment's desktop dragbar). Combined with (2) and (3) above, you wind up with an invisible window on another desktop refusing to let any other X client have focus. I have my window manager, Enlightenment, set to only give new dialogs focus if their parent window is focused and gnotime was most certainly not. Please let the window manager do its job, and don't steal the focus. - -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (130, 'unstable'), (120, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-bohr Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages gnotime depends on: ii guile-1.6-libs 1.6.7-1 Main Guile libraries ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-6 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-5 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libbonobo2-0 2.8.0-4 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.8.0-2 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libesd-alsa0 [libesd0] 0.2.35-2 Enlightened Sound Daemon (ALSA) - ii libfontconfig1 2.2.3-4 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.7-2.3 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgail-common 1.8.2-1 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgail17 1.8.2-1 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgconf2-4 2.8.1-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgcrypt11 1.2.0-4 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libglade2-0 1:2.4.1-1 Library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.4.8-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring0 0.4.0-2 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome2-0 2.8.0-6 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.8.0-1 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeprint2.2-0 2.8.2-1 The GNOME 2.2 print architecture - ii libgnomeprintui2.2-0 2.8.1-1 The GNOME 2.2 print architecture U ii libgnomeui-0 2.8.0-3 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.8.3-7 The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgnutls11 1.0.16-9 GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libgpg-error0 1.0-1 library for common error values an ii libgtk2.0-0 2.4.14-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtkhtml3.2-11 3.2.4-1 HTML rendering/editing library - r ii libguile-ltdl-1 1.6.7-1 Guile's patched version of libtool ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii liborbit2 1:2.10.2-1.1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-0 1.6.0-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libqof-0.5.0-1 0.5.0-2 Query Object Framework ii libqthreads-12 1.6.7-1 QuickThreads library for Guile ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System Session Management ii libtasn1-2 0.2.10-3 Manage ASN.1 structures (runtime) ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System protocol client li ii libxml2 2.6.11-5 GNOME XML library ii scrollkeeper 0.3.14-9.1 A free electronic cataloging syste ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-3 compression library - runtime - -- no debconf information -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFB7R4P+z+IwlXqWf4RAhRqAKCEf+W9BA7nkMKsxeqPc/z2EJCW4ACggvdE mIkmkwMks88L4c6HmjrJIbo= =AE14 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
