Package: petris Version: 1.0.1-4 Severity: normal Dear Steve
linda gives the following warning for my petris package: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/shed/debian/petris/1.0.1b-4$ linda -i petris_1.0.1-4_i386.changes W: petris; File /usr/games/petris has incorrect file permissions of 2755. The file shown above is in installed into a binary directory, which are currently known as /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin, /usr/sbin, /usr/X11R6/bin and /usr/games, and it doesn't have permissions of rwxr-xr-x. Under '11.11 Games', Debian Policy states: [...] Games which require protected, privileged access to high-score files, savegames, etc., may be made set-group-id (mode 2755) and owned by root.games, [...] petris has a shared high-score file, so this is exactly what I do. It would be great if you could modify the check such that for binaries in /usr/games, linda does not give the above warning. Thanks a lot for maintaining linda - it's use surely increases package quality! I just think that avoiding false positives helps getting it into even more widespread use. ;-) Best regards Andree -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-1-k7 Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages petris depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
