KDE 3.4 will ship the media:/ ioslave which is (more or less) the gnome-volume-manager pendant in KDE. (the media ioslave can be seen as the successor of k-v-m which the OP talks about). dbus cvs has already the necessary patches for dbus-qt-integration. So it should be possible to enable the qt-bindings in the debian package. It would be great if we can get dbus with qt-bindings in sarge. That would be very helpful for the kde backporters after sarge's release. And I'm changing the severity to wishlist because it's not really a bug. BTW: #271895 should then be closed.
