I would gladly help in trouble shooting this further if you need the help. I think it would be great to see this package make it into a stable distro of debian. I am wondering if you have come to any conclusions as to why this happens on some systems.

As a suggestion to others who are experiencing this bug, back up Data.fs before removing all traces of the package. It may ease your re-installment and any other future situation by keeping on hand the product you have installed.
