I don't know who Aubrey is, but if you have contacts that will help get these packages fixed for sarge, I would certainly encourage you to try. It is also possible that this problem can be fixed by having the ftp-masters drop the ia64 and powerpc binaries from the archive; this should definitely be cleared with the scm maintainer first.
