out of curiosity, are you running the 32bit binary of the X driver or the 64bit one? if you fetched the amd64 binary pgk you have the 64bit version. The x86_64 binary has some different DEFINES defined at compile time. Altought this may not be the cause of the driver failure, I'd expect a SIGSEGV in the above situation. Other than that I don't have a clue... I'll try to contact upstream on the issue (do you mind being Cc-ed?) thanks -- mattia :wq!
