Package: nis
Version: 3.12-3
Severity: minor

First of all, let me thank you for the excelent howto you've included in
the nis documentation.

I thought I would inform you of two minor inconcsistencies which I
discovered when attempting to follow your instructions:

 - In section 3.7 you suggest touching /etc/networks, but as far as I
can tell this is no longer necessary, and not doing it produces no
   errors.

 - ypinit, when run as suggested in section 3.7, assumes that
localhost.localdomain is the current NIS server if that line comes
first in /etc/hosts. By putting the real IP address and hostname
above the 127.0.0.1 line, ypinit selected the correct hostname for
   the server.

I may have missed something or done something wrong, but this was my
experience. :-)

Charles
