Package: autotools-dev
Version: 20041130.2
Severity: wishlist

Hi, if I am wrong, just close this.

As I read current README.Debian.gz, you recommend:

For automake 1.6 and above, and newest autoconf:
  - Build-Depends: autoconf, automake<version you want>
  - Build-Conflicts: autoconf2.13, automake1.4

But current automake 1.9, 1.8, 1.7, 1.6 conflicts with older 1.4. So no
need to set conflict. The same is true for autoconf with old 2.13.

Are you sure we still need to set conflict? The versioned conflicts of
each package seems to accomodate each other as long as they are new
version now.
