Latest nano upload (1.2.4-2) makes nano unusable on most GNU/Hurd systems, which is quite annoying since it is the only editor installed by default. This is due to this ChangeLog entry: * debian/links: provide a compatibility symlink /usr/bin/nano -> * /bin/nano. Many (probably most) Debian GNU/Hurd systems do not have a real /usr directory, but instead /usr is a link to ".". That makes /bin/nano and /usr/bin/nano the same file. Consequently, installing nano on these systems give something like : [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /bin/nano lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 9 Jan 12 15:21 /bin/nano -> /bin/nano .. which is not very usable ;-) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: hurd-i386 (i686-AT386) Kernel: GNU 0.3 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages nano depends on: ii libc0.3 2.3.2.ds1-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
