Hi, Here's an update on what I've tried and what's happened. I could not get the disc formatted at all. I tried to change where the SATA disc was connected to the motherboard (See bug 281843), but that didn't make any difference. I've also looked for compatibility modes etc, in the BIOS but can't find any other than setting of IDE/RAID. I also tried to install WinXP onto the system but the WinXP installer blue-screened. That said I unplugged the SATA drive and plugged in an old 3.2GB disc. Debian installer worked perfectly up to the point where it wanted to connect to the net, where I had to abort (ADSL pending). Interesting point is now that I also tried to install WinXP onto the 3.2GB disc. WinXP installer still crashed.
My conclusion is that I have a hardware issue, and thus I guess this bug is bogus. Thanks for your time and excellent software! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
