This addresses PR-#266359. Since the debian package specifies a default 'bellFile' in the Dclock.ad system file, a user is left with no means to disable the spawning of an external audio player (if the user doesn't have root access they won't be able to modify the Dclock.ad plus this gives users the ability to control the invocation of the external player on a multi-user system). The attached patch will allow the user to reset the 'bellFile' option to look as though it was never specified (disabling the external player) which will revert the audio to the default system bell. With the patch this can easily be accomplished through, dclock*bell: true dclock*bellFile: NULL Regards. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: sparc (sparc64) Kernel: Linux 2.4.18 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages dclock depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxt6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System client libraries m -- no debconf information
