Package: lxqt-panel
Version: 2.2.2-1+b1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected], [email protected]

Hello,

at some point (not sure when, but it's a while, I didn't have the
time to dig this until now) the "directory menu" plugin in my
lxqt-panel stopped working.
"open in terminal" still works, but it fails to open any directory (for example
my home) with the file manager (it's pcmanfm-qt, but fails with dolphin or
konqueror too)

by running the panel in console I found that it uses xdg-open, and that
doesn't work in my system

> $ xdg-open /home/lorenzo/
> xdg-open: no method available for opening '/home/lorenzo/'

(trying to configure xdg with xdg-settings fails the same way)

by running
> $ sh -x /usr/bin/xdg-open /home/lorenzo/
> [output cut]
+ return 0
+ open_lxqt /home/lorenzo/
+ qtxdg-mat open --help
+ exit_failure_operation_impossible no method available for opening
'/home/lorenzo/'
+ [ 1 -gt 0 ]
+ echo xdg-open: no method available for opening '/home/lorenzo/'
xdg-open: no method available for opening '/home/lorenzo/'
+ exit 3

in fact qtxdg-mat from qtxdg-tools package is not installed on my system.
Installing qtxdg-tools fixed the issue for me.

I think the lxqt-panel should at least recommend qtxdg-tools (if not add a
Depends)

Also since the xdg method is used by several desktop apps, I think it would be
a good idea to recommend qtxdg-tools in the lxqt| lxqt-core metapackage.

Thanks for maintaining the lxqt suite in Debian,
Lorenzo
