Package: eog
Version: 2.16.3-2
Severity: normal

Viewing xawtv-screengrabs in jpeg format (size: 768x576) causes eog to
consume enormous anmounts of memory (up to 1,4GB virtual).

I uploaded a selfmade image (GIMP) that also causes that problem and
two screenshots of top while displaying that image to my webspace:

My System is a relatively new installed etch with nothing but etch
packages installed.

Will provide more information if needed!

According to the upstream bug this seems to have been fixed in 2.31.2, in 2015.
