It closes bug #1104576 which is RC.
It closes bugs #787766 and #824979.
It fixes a number of lintian issues.
[ Impact ]
Due to the RC bug it will not be in Trixie. Also the other bugs affect 2
monitor scripts which affect the people who use them.
The lintian and documentation issues are general code quality issues.
[ Tests ]
There are no automated tests. Manual tests show that it works well.
[ Risks ]
The code changes are trivial and this is not a key package so there is no
real risk.
