Package: rcconf
Version: 1.10
Severity: wishlist

I like the new update-rcconf-guide feature. However, currently it needs to be
run manually to update the descriptions. It's unlikely some users will know
about this, and even those that do will probably forget. I think it would be
useful if it were run automatically. I have a few suggestions for when this
could happen:

1. As a hook in apt (a file in /etc/apt.conf.d), so that is is run after
packages are upgraded/removed/otherwise changed.

2. Automatically every day via a file in /etc/cron.daily.

3. Alternatively, the functionality could be merged into the startup of
rcconf, obviating the need for the /var/lib/rcconf/guide.default file. This
might, however, slow the startup of rcconf.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Andrew.
