Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.22.3-3
Severity: important
Tags: newcomer
Dear Maintainer,
when launching different applications---such as nautilus, evince, or
reportbug---or when opening the dialog 'open file' in others application---such
as Firefox---and if the 'Shellshape' extension is actived in a mode different
of 'floating windows', the session suddenly closes. I found the following
segfault record in `dmesg`:
```
[ 31.465888] gnome-shell[649]: segfault at 140 ip 00007f867f8537db sp
00007ffdf9178ff0 error 4 in libmutter.so.0.0.0[7f867f784000+12c000]
```
I did not manage to get a stack trace, my whole computer freezes as soon as I
attach gdb to `gnome-shell`.
The segfault happens at any tentative. But there is a "workaround": if I take
care of setting 'Shellshape' into the mode "floating window" when I launch an
application for the first time, then I am safe. Any subsequent launch of _any_
application
will succeed, indepently of the current mode of Shellshape.
Regards,
Grégoire
