Package: meld
Version: 3.20.2-2
If I have to interrupt my current task to check something on another
git repository, then the meld used for the current task is terminated
as soon as I hit ^Q in the meld started for the interrupt task.
This is confusing, not being asked for, and *highly* annoying. How
can I keep these melds separate from each other?

Harri

It is standard behavior that "Quit (Ctrl+Q" closes all open windows
for an app. Use Ctrl+W instead to only close the current tab.
It is surprising that meld allows you to open multiple windows since
it looks like it's intended to only use tabs. That might be disabled
in a future release.
