Package: raspi-firmware
Version: 1.20201022-1
Severity: normal

Dear Debian raspi-firmware maintainers,
Linux 5.10 kernel's vc4.ko starts partial support of RPi 2/3/4 VideoCore 4 GPU,
and it enables 4K HDMI output, which is very welcome.
But in some situation, screen output is garbled as reported at
http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-rpi-kernel/2020-November/007894.html
The above symptom can be fixed by adding disable_fw_kms_setup=1 as
reported at
http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-rpi-kernel/2020-November/007900.html
I do not think this is a bug in raspi-firmware, but config.txt is handled by
raspi-firmware, please consider to add disable_fw_kms_setup=1.
Best regards, Ryutaroh Matsumoto

The underlying kernel bug was fixed by Debian kernel 5.10.13.
The workaround disable_fw_kms_setup=1 becomes unnecessary.
