Package: user-mode-linux
Version: 2.4.26-1um-1
Severity: normal
Hello Matt,
I have tried this new package,
Some remark:
1) using slirp now lead to a kernel oops.
2) The package won't build on top of woody anymore.
(please ask if you want more information on this)
Now to the point: apparently hostfs behavior w.r.t. uid/gid was changed
(seemingly on purpose) between 2.4.23-2um-1 and 2.4.26-1um-1,
Now, it report root:root instead of the real uid:gid pair for files
mounted via hostfs. Unfortunately, I need to allow a group to write to
the host, and using root for that purpose is not an option.
I tried to mount with -ogid=104 but it failed.
Did I overlooked the solution ?
Cheers,
Bill.
