This is overkill, imho, and has led to two servers i know of going down because of a full hard drive. If you choose to leave it this way please find some way to notify server admins. I'm inclined to agree with Andrew on this one, and am closing the bug. "My logs eat disk space, and I don't pay attention to how much I have" isn't really a bug in the package, just a problem with keeping track of how much space you have (unless the logs are growing VERY rapidly, which they aren't). ...
