We're thinking of removing the older xerces versions from sarge and
probably from sid as well. Can you see whether anon-proxy works with
xerces26 and, if so, re-upload with a dependency upon that version
instead? I've marked this bug "important" because of the possible
removal of xerces25. Thanks! (I am the maintainer of the xerces
packages.)

I'm closing this request for anon-proxy to depend upon xerces26
instead of xerces25 because it is superseded by bug 339405 which asks
for it to depend upon xerces27. I will upgrade 339405 to serious
after the removal of xerces25 which should happen pretty soon. Please
let me know if I should NMU anon-proxy to change the dependency.
Thanks!
