Package: hal
Version: 0.5.8.1-9
Severity: important

I use hal 5.10 and gnome-power-manager 2.20 to suspend when the laptop lid is
closed.
The problem is that is only works the first time.
After that, Hal does not seem to update g-p-m about the lid state, and
the latter ignores any further lid close event.
lshal -m will report only the close event, but afterthat neither the open event
nor other lid close.

Downgrading hal to 5.8 and g-p-m 2.14 solves the issue.
