This added a symbol to libdiscover1 which is subsequently used by discover1. However, if libdiscover1 <= 1.7.10 (e.g. 1.7.6) is installed, and a newer version of discover1 is installed, this symbol does not exist, so pci_lst_list will just be pointing to random garbage, and discover1 will fail. libdiscover1.shlibs should be bumped to libdiscover1 (>= 1.7.10), so discover1 picks up this tighter dependency. --ewQ5hdP4CtoTt3oD Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDcmc7RkzMgPKxYGwRAn5KAJ9m8RQfzC/OSGsdy9S79fEzUy6x3QCePCcL +jp+sunBH7M+rCUdQP+KhdE= =t09R -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --ewQ5hdP4CtoTt3oD-- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 338359-close) by bugs.debian.org; 25 Nov 2005 11:51:29 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Nov 25 03:51:29 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from katie by spohr.debian.org with local (Exim 4.50) id 1Efc2j-0003UP-IU; Fri, 25 Nov 2005 03:47:05 -0800 From: Otavio Salvador <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.60 $ Subject: Bug#338359: fixed in discover1 1.7.16 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, 25 Nov 2005 03:47:05 -0800 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-CrossAssassin-Score: 3 Source: discover1 Source-Version: 1.7.16 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of discover1, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: discover1-udeb_1.7.16_powerpc.udeb to pool/main/d/discover1/discover1-udeb_1.7.16_powerpc.udeb discover1_1.7.16.dsc to pool/main/d/discover1/discover1_1.7.16.dsc discover1_1.7.16.tar.gz to pool/main/d/discover1/discover1_1.7.16.tar.gz discover1_1.7.16_powerpc.deb to pool/main/d/discover1/discover1_1.7.16_powerpc.deb libdiscover1-dev_1.7.16_powerpc.deb to pool/main/d/discover1/libdiscover1-dev_1.7.16_powerpc.deb libdiscover1-pic_1.7.16_powerpc.deb to pool/main/d/discover1/libdiscover1-pic_1.7.16_powerpc.deb libdiscover1_1.7.16_powerpc.deb to pool/main/d/discover1/libdiscover1_1.7.16_powerpc.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
